Sifar Table and Stool

By Shive Nagah and Amin Frarrar

SIFAR (Zero) is a collaborative furniture art piece created by a Punjabi and a Persian artist, coming together through friendship, culture, and shared values. Sifar means “zero” in both Punjabi and Persian — a beautiful word that connects us across language, heritage, and spirit.Made entirely with zero-shaped forms and pre-loved fabric, this work is a tribute to new beginnings, to the circle of life, and to the idea that nothing is ever truly wasted. Every piece of fabric carries a memory. Every curve speaks of continuity, softness, and healing.

In Sifar, zero is not emptiness — it is potential. It is the space where art, culture, and kindness grow.Created in the heart of Australia’s multicultural society, this work also stands for zero hate. It honours love beyond borders, the richness of diverse traditions, and the power of reuse and reconnection.Through Sifar, we invite people to sit, reflect, and feel — not just comfort, but also the invisible threads that tie us together.
